Paid Internships

Dunwoody Circus Collection

Students will work with a collection of materials about circuses and other related materials. The project will involve cleaning, labeling, and organizing slide, negatives, prints, documents, and artifacts for scanning and description. The position is 10 hours a week at $7.25/hr. Must complete a 3-hour credit course.

Transcription

Transcribing local oral histories into a word document.  Variety of topics, World War II, African American, USI, business, and civic leaders.  Internship would be in the archives working with audio tapes.  Archives librarian will train on methods for assignments.

Wesselman Woods

Students will be scanning and describing slides, negatives, and prints from Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve for loading the Digital Gallery.

Kevin Swank

Student will work with a large local photographic negative collection from a newspaper photographer’s collection from the 1990s-2000s.  The project will involve cleaning, labeling, and organizing negatives for scanning and description.

Independent Study

Students can meet with the University Archivist to develop a personalized research project.
