The USI Student Rights and Responsibilities handbook defines plagiarism as when students, "intentionally adopt or reproduce ideas, words, or statements of another person without acknowledgment."
"A student must give due credit to the originality of others and properly reference the following:
1. Quoting another person’s actual words;
2. Using another person’s ideas, opinion, or theory;
3. Borrowing facts, statistics, or other illustrative material, unless the information is common knowledge."
