Know Your Way Around Campus Print Page

University President, Linda L. M. Bennett

President Linda Bennett has worked at USI since 2003 and became the third president of the University in 2009. 


David L. Rice Library

David L. Rice Library (Rice Library)

Make this your home away from home! There's an indefinite number of comfortable places inside and outside the library to grab a coffee and start studying. The library has reference librarians and staff that will help you with anything that you need! Send an email, an IM, text them or give them a telephone call

This building is your key to being a successful student at USI!


University Center, the "Cone"

The University Center will often be refered to as the UC or 'the cone' and is a comon meeting point on campus. Located inside are on-campus dining options: The Loft, Red Mango, Fiesta Fuego, Cyclone Salads, Subconnection, Archie's Pizzeria and Burger King. 

This is where you pick up your Eagle Access Card (also your library card). You can buy your meals with your Eagle Access Card if you bought a dining plan at the beginning of th eyear. 

The Campus Store is also located in the UC, you can buy textbooks and other school supplies as needed. You can also use your card to buy other items at the Campus Store including snacks, USI clothing, and even computers. 

Other resources in the UC include the Multicultural Center and the Study Abroad Office.


Recreation and Fitness Center

The Recreation, Wellness, and Fitness Center (RWFC) is one of the most popular places on campus! You can workout here for FREE. Just check in at the desk with your Eagle Access Card and you can play basketball, video games, lift weights or take group exercise classes. 


Orr Center

You will take primarily English Courses inside of the Orr Center (OC). The Admissions Office and the Financial Aid Office are also in this building. 


Business and Engineering Building

In the Business and Engineering Center you will find a Stock Market Lab, Entrepreneurship Lab, Sales Management Development Lab, and an Engineering Design Center. 


Health Professions

The Health Professions Building (HP) is home to nursing majors, health administration, nutrition majors as well as other health-related majors. Located in the basement of the HP is the University Health Center. All USI students, faculty, and staff are eligible to use the University Health Center for any healthcare needs. Students are eligible for an office visit plan that costs only $47.00 a semester.
