Interlibrary Loan

Login and Registration

Requesting an Interlibrary Loan

There are two ways to request an interlibrary loan: manually filling out a form or requesting from a database.

Login using your MyUSI username and password.  If you do not already have an account, you will be prompted to fill out a new user form.  You can begin requesting immediately

Requesting an interlibrary loan using a request form

If you already know what you need, you can use one of the forms located at the top under "New Requests."  Choose the correct form for the item you are requesting and fill out as much information as you have (be sure all fields with asterisks have something in them or the form will not be submitted)

Requesting an interlibrary loan from a database

When searching in the databases, if you find a citation for an article or a book that Rice Library does not own, you’re given the option to request it via interlibrary loan.

  • Click the Request via Interlibrary Loan link, and it will select the correct form and auto populate the fields.
  • Check over the form to make sure the information is correct and don’t forget to add any additional information in the notes field.
