1. On the desktop, click on the icon “PowerScan 3000”
a. If you receive this message, the scanner needs to be turned on.
b. The on switch is located on the back of the scanner.
2. Choose 16mm roll, 35mm roll, negative fiche, or positive fiche.
3. To load microfilm onto machine:
a. Pull glass tray out all the way – a diagram showing how to load the film will appear on the computer screen.
i. Follow the diagram to load film and push glass back in place.
ii. Use the “motorized film controls” to find pages needed & adjust as needed.
iii. To unload, pull glass toward you and double click the “rewind” button on the “motorized film controls panel.”
4. To load microfiche onto the machine:
a. Pull out glass tray and place fiche under glass tray.
i. The bottom of the fiche should go in first so that it is upside down to you.
ii. Move the glass around the find the images to scan.
iii. To unload, pull glass toward you and remove fiche.
5. Scanning/Saving
a. Adjust images as needed using the buttons (see below).
b. Scanning and saving are completed in the same step:
i. Go to the “output” tab and select “Scan to H:drive” or “Scan to USB drive” and name the file.
ii. Continue scanning until all images needed are scanned and click “finish” on “page count box.”
iii. Your images will either be on your H:drive or flashdrive.
